elderly problem

a couple have been robbing elderly people in scunthorpe, said the police.

the couple have been active since may, and have been offering to do gardening and window-cleaning, after which they would enter the house to do some cleaning there, as well.

female, 21, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and released on bail, to be further inquired later on.

male, mid 20s, slim, white is still out there somewhere.

so, be careful, and know your gardener... even if he does your wife.

the goji berry, on test

(from bbc.uk)
fruit viagra, cellulite busting, they're praising them.

it's said they contain more: c vitamin than oranges, beta carotene than carrots and iron than steak.

"...A more sober scientific explanation says the beta-carotene in the fruit is thought to help fight heart disease, defend against cancer and protect skin from sun-damage. The berries are a good source of B vitamins and anti-oxidants - which may help protect against the fallout from chemical reactions in the body..."

now, all that is very nice, but i've noticed that whatever we eat that's natural, it's usually anti-oxidant, full of vitamins, helps prevent heart disease and so on. so, final conclusion is that we shouldn't eat junk food, and we'd be ok.

and we should probably sleep more...

japan expecting a boy

this one is quite cute... japan is expecting an imperial newborn.

there haven't been a male child since 1965, when akishino was born. (don't ask who that is, i know he's male). japanese primeminister junichiro koizumi had planned to enact a legislation to give women equal rights to inherit the trone, to avoid succession crisis.
of course, conservationists are keen to keep the existing law unchanged, and females away from the trone.

experts agree, whatever, that reform would still be needed since ensuring of the future male heirs is a problem since a royal concubine system is no longer active. it was stopped by the hirohito, emeror akihito's father.

good luck to japan.

new name for chechnya

so people of chechnya want to change their country's name to nokchiyn. apparently the russian screwed it up back in history, around 19th century, when their colonist troops came there.

same story with grozny, which got a name by russian emperor ivan. seems thay dislike being connected with the word terrible.

they called local people chechens. hence the present name of the country.
"if one proceeds from the name of the people, then we are nokhchi, an then, of course, should have been a different name here", said the president.

i personally think about chechens as terrorists, and take the russian side there. also, i think they have bigger problems than name of the country. how 'bout that?
